One of the most ideal locations to stay when I go to California is at Norwalk. Norwalk is in a central location and it’s easily accessible to other major tourist attractions in California like Los Angeles, Long Beach, Hollywood and Anaheim. Getting to Norwalk is never an issue. One can always fly to Los Angeles internal Airport (LAX), Long Beach Airport (LGB), John Wayne Airport (SNA) or Ontario Airport (ONT) and get to Norwalk by bus or cab. There are many hotels in Norwalk like Knotts Berry Farm hotels which one can stay.

Major tourists’ attractions are about 10km to 20km from Norwalk. From Norwalk, one can go sightseeing in Hollywood or even Disneyland at Anaheim to bring back the childhood in us. Hollywood is always there but bumping into a movie star will depend on your luck. You may want to find out where these movie stars hang out for their meals, shopping or even have their drinks. You may want to join the paparazzi to trail the movie stars.

Perhaps, go to Long Beach for to visit Queen Mary, the world’s most luxurious liner, go whale watching or visit the Aquarium of the Pacific. After a long day and after the sun goes down at Long Beach, there nightlife will come to life. There are many good restaurants for meals. There are many night spots to spend the evening away too. There are jazz lounges, night clubs and pubs to go to.

On my way back from Phoenix, I decided to stop over to visit Los Angeles. Everyone has heard so much of this city but not many have the opportunity to visit Los Angeles. So, I decided I should not waste the opportunity.

Los Angeles is so well know around the world for its many offerings. The English entertainment world is center in Hollywood. Every one who watches movies knows about Hollywood and its blockbusters, movie stars and their glamorous lives at Beverly Hills. A tour of Hollywood and Universal Studio are a must to witness how movies are made.

There is Disneyland at Anaheim to bring out the kids in you. I have always wanted to be at the ‘Happiest Place On Earth’ since I was a kid. I spent the whole day trying out every ride. I didn’t mind queuing up as long as I can get to try out the rides which I have seen on television shows. The kid in me keeps me going in Disneyland. There was the Walt Disney’s Parade of Dreams showcasing all the characters that we are so familiar with. In the evening, I watch the “Remember…. Dreams Come True” fireworks show. It was the most appropriate event to end the day in Disneyland.

Other places that I visited are Santa Monica beach to see the muscle builders flexing their muscles by the beach, checking out Sunset Boulevard to see if it’s the same as the musical and off course, shopping at Citadel Factory Outlet. Actually, I did not manage to spend more time shopping. There are plenty more shopping centers that I wanted to visit.

There are still so many things to do in Los Angeles and I have to come back again to see the rest.

Whistler, a town 120km north of Vancouver in British Columbia, is famous for its ski resorts. Eventhough Whistler maybe a small town compared to its southern cousin, Vancouver, she stands out on its own with its own attractions. Together they act as the eastern gateway that draws in millions of tourists into Canada.

There are many activities visitors visiting Whistler during winter seasons such as snowmobile, heli-skiing, heli-boarding, snowshoeing, sleigh riding, dog sledging, cross country skiing or even, fishing on the rivers in Whistler. All these activities can keep visitors’ adrenaline pumping as long as they stay in Whistler. These activities can cater for various level of expertise. The event organizer can provide training for beginners. The experts can go for more grueling course. The facilities for these activities are world class standard. In fact, some events for the 2010 Winter Olympics will be held in Whistler. Many more are being build for the Olympics and things can only get better in Whistler.

Accommodation in Whistler is easily available. There are more than 3,000 hotel rooms and 5,000 other types of accommodations available. Visitors can easily find a place to stay. They can even book their accommodation online. Whistler condos are nice and there are even some luxurious ones available to visitors. Some of these condos have heated hot tubs for the comfort of their guests. Rentals are flexible and be custom-built according to your travel itinerary and plans.

Vacationing on a cruise ship is my dream holiday. It has always been on my list of must-do vacation but never get to do it due to cost reasons. Yet, I have friends who have been on cruise vacations and always return to tell me great stories about their cruise vacations.

Among places that I would love to go on Alaska cruises, Hawaii cruises or even European cruises, particularly the Mediterranean cruises. I love Alaska cruises for the glaciers, natural surroundings and snow capped mountain sceneries. Hawaii cruises offer the beautiful beaches, sun and sea where I can take part in water activities in various islands in Hawaii. For the Mediterranean cruise, I would love to visit the port cities in Santorini in Greece, Venice in Italy, Kusadasi in Turkey and Dubrovnik in Crotia. This remains a dream but not for long.

During my family vacation to California, we planned to take a drive along ‘the most beautiful drive in America’ on Lake Tahoe – East Shore Drive. The pristine Lake Tahoe is surrounded by the Sierras offers the best picturesque scenery in America. There is plenty of sun the whole year for any activities ranging from golf, water sports and hiking in this area.

We made many stops along the way to take so many pictures of the beautiful Lake Tahoe and Sierras. The scenery was so spectacularly beautiful and we were totally satisfied with the drive on ‘the most beautiful drive in America’.

It was so nice that we just want to linger on and spend more time to enjoy the scenery but we had to leave to check into our hotel. We promised ourselves to come back again to spend more time along this route again We drove towards the north check into the condo hotel in North Lake Tahoe that we have made our reservations. The idea of cruising is so romantic. Going for a cruise is definitely one of my must-do in my vacation list. It’s getting up the list as I have completed visiting some of the nice places around the world like Pyramids of Giza, Grand Canyon, Great Wall of China, Angkor Wat and Borobudur.

One of the cruise companies that attracted my attention is Discovery Cruise Line. Discovery Cruise Line was voted “Best Day Cruise” to Bahamas for six consecutive years by readers of Porthole Cruise magazine. A visit to Las Vegas is never complete without spending an evening strolling on Las Vegas Boulevard visiting the hotels. The Las Vegas hotels are simply humongous and they are located along the famous Las Vegas Boulevard a.k.a The Strip. Visiting these hotels was exactly what I did when I visited Las Vegas recently.

I walked along The Strip starting from Mandalay Bay to The Sands. Along the way, I stopped by some of the landmark hotels to see the main attractions in the hotel or just to take pictures. 

Since I was a boxing fan, I had always wanted to see the arenas where all the great boxing matches were fought. Hotels like Mandalay Bay, MGM Grand and Caesar Palace were among the places I wanted to visit. However, the arenas, that held the boxing matches, were closed as they were used for other events.

In Las Vegas, the hotels have their own themes. These themes are visible in the architectural designs. Strolling along The Strip, I saw some hotels that have names, which are associated to famous cities in the world. Seeing these hotels brought sweet memories back to me reminding me of my family vacations to these cities.

Bellagio hotel is a close resemblance of Bellagio town in north of Italy. Having been to the real Bellagio, which is small quaint town near Lake Como, I can sense the same look and feel in the hotel.

Venetian hotel comes with the Grand Canal and Ponte Rialto. Not forgetting the gondolas and gondoliers traveling up and down the man-made canal. The façade of Venetian hotel is similar to the view of St Marco church from sea.

Caesar Palace comes with Coliseum, roman pillars and statues of Caesar. Coliseum is the main convention center which features Celine Dion’s  ‘A New Day’ concert.

Paris Las Vegas brings Eiffel Tower to America. There is a miniature version of Eiffel Tower along The Strip. You can even go up the Eiffel Tower to see the desert around Las Vegas.

The stroll along The Strip was not a short walk. The whole journey took me more than six hours. I was completely exhausted by the time I got back to my hotel.

It has been almost three years since I planned to visit Hawaii with my family. I happened to discover a cheap way to fly to Hawaii from where I am using All Nippon Airways (ANA). This flight will transit at Tokyo and I can choose to proceed to either Honolulu or Kona. I missed that trip due to work commitment and I am determined to visit Hawaii.

All Nippon Airways will provide a few nights of free accommodation in one of the Hawaii’s islands. But, I intent to stay longer to explore more of Hawaii. Hawaii has so much to offer among its six major islands.

In fact, I have even planned for a Hawaii vacation with all the activities planned in Hawaii and Maui. Even the choice of accommodation was identified among the Hawaii vacation rentals and Maui vacation rentals available. I always prefer vacation rentals as the choice for accommodation as it is cheaper than hotels and they are just as good.

Now, it’s just waiting for the moment to come by for me to hop on the plane to get to Hawaii.
